What Causes Enlarged Veins In Wrist Area And Arm?

Just today I noticed something weird about the veins in my wrist area, on my left arm. The veins seemed enlarged. Shortly after noticing it it went away. Then after that the same veins seemed to be less visible. Is this normal? Am I just over-reacting? Or is it cause for concern? What caused this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the enlarged vein in wrist area and arm with sudden disappearance indicate possible issue of ganglion over dorsum or wrist most likely. The ganglion is a benign lesion appearing or popping on suddenly with particular flexion movements of the wrist joint and disappear with partial flexion or relaxation. Do visit your primary care for basic work up on clinical grounds and let you assist for primary diagnosis and further guidance.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
