Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having episodes for a week. All of a sudden, I feel extremely dizzy and like I m going to pass out. My hands and feet start to tingle. My chest has stinging pains. Then I will jerk (convulse) and repeat myself. I am conscious to answer questions, but I feel very out of it . My vision blurs and when I open my eyes, everything looks gray. I have been to 3 different ER s in the last few days. They say my EKG is normal as well as my blood work. I had a CAT scan that was normal also. Even when I m not in a full episode, I m constantly dizzy and tingly in my hands and feet. What is wrong with me?
It seems least likely to be cardiac and normal EKG also supports this but neurological causes should be ruled out. Detailed neurological sensory and motor examination as well as levels of B12 and folic acid as well as vitamin D levels should be done and replacement may be started if low as these can cause all these symptoms. Other metabolic causes like electrolyte disturbances as well sugar and thyroid levels should be evaluated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
