What Causes Episodes Of Dizziness And Pounding Heart After Quitting Cold Turkey?

Thank you.
My brother is 50. He smoked 1/2 a pack a day up until a month ago. He quit cold turkey.
He is now having episodes of feeling faint or dizzy with unclear vision and a pounding heart.
My husband claims he had the same thing when he quit a pack a day habit.
Husband says it is caffeine. He claims the body processes caffiene differently without nicotene.

Yeah, most people get this.
Tobacco is a unique addiction. The normal chemicals running basically everytrhing are similar to nicotine. The body gets used to having sky high levels of these chemicals. When they are no longer present, basically everytrhing doesn't run right for a few days to a few weeks until things get readjusted. This includes but is not limited to eye constriction, salivation, gut motility, heart contraction, control of sweating, etc. These get changed with cold turky but all come back to normal.
