What Causes Episodes Of Vomiting, Sweating And Spinning Vision?

I had a severe attack a vertigo Monday. Severe vomiting, profuse sweating, unable to keep my eyes open d/t spinning vision. Came on very suddenly. Acute vomiting part lasted about 1-2hrs, continued to not be able to get up for 4 hrs. A friend brought me Antivert, not sure how much it helped. That was Monday. I went to doctor Wed. and got rx for valium prn. I've been taking Antivert 2-3 times daily as well as Sudafed (just in case fluid in ears-doc said drums looked a little dull). Today, Friday, I had another severe attack--vomiting, sweating etc. I had already had 2 Antiverts when this attack occured. Between vomiting, i chewed a 5mg Valium. this attack only lasted about an hour before I could get up. I'm still in bed now feeling unsteady and kind of nauseous. How long might this last. I'm miserable and afraid of leaving the house. I am female, 41, non smoker, no significant med history, 5'5 and 170 lbs
