Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excess Body Chills And Loss Of Appetite?
I am having bad chills that last up to 1 1/2 hours along with short hot flashes, loss o appitite and loss of 100 pounds in a few months. My cat scraches me alot and after the last scracth that left me bledding for a half hour, I was jolted righht out of bed with a terrible chill. What is going on?
I would recommend a visit to your doctor for an elaborate blood panel to be conducted. Bleeding for that long is not normal and I would really want to run a few tests on you. Chills also usually indicate a time when any bacteria or virus load is maximum in the blood and so collecting a blood sample during your chills would yield most acccurate results when tested for the most plausible infections with such a presentation. I would be suspecting a viral infection with a drop in your platelet count (e.g. dengue).
Best wishes.
