What Causes Excess Sleep, Lack Of Appetite And Vomiting?

My daughter is 1 year old. She was with her grandparents for the last 5 days and had a 12month check up. She is now sleeping a lot, fussy, loss of appatite, fever, and little vometing. It is sunday night. Should i take her to the hospital.? I have already given her medicine to reduce fever. And just gave her a cool bath.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of excess sleep, lack of appetite and vomiting which seems to due to gastrointestinal disturbances and it could be due to acute gastritis. It could be due to electrolyte disturbance and underlying systemic pathology. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give your daughter proper rest. You should give her antiemetic like domperidone and ranitidine for vomiting. You should give plenty of fluids. Visit gastroenterologist/ pediatrician once and get it examined. Take diet rich in fibrous food and green leafy vegetables. You should take oral rehydration syrup as well. You should take Ibuprofen for fever. If you will feel severe symptoms of vomiting you should go to hospital and get antiemetic injection and intravenous fluids after proper consultation.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
