What Causes Excess Urination After Gallbladder Being Removed?

Yesterday I had my galbladder removed and returned home a few hours later. Once home, I began to have excessive urination. I was going about every 15-30 minutes, and was very productive every time. I did have a bladder sling installed 5 years ago, but I don't think there is a connection to the 2 procedures.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for the query.
Yesm you ar right, these 2 procedures are not related but increased urine production is not uncommon after gallbladder surgery since there are iv infusion which are given to you and some anasthetic medications which are excreted through kidneys. So it is expected to have urination in more volume for several days after. It will stabilize soon.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
