What Causes Excessive Appetite While Having Gluten Sensitivity In A Child?
My granddaughter is 2 years old and has a gluten sensitivity. Does not have celiac disease. Had endoscopy and confirmed this condition. She is always hungry and wanting to eat but is not gaining weight. Eats very healthy but her height and weight is being compromised somehow. Is she missing something in her intestines that makes her want to eat all the time
Usually, the intestinal parasitic infection causes a kid to eat a lot without increasing weight. She should do parasitic faeces analysis to check for parasites.
This infection is common in kids which go to kindergarten and live in this community. The treatment consists on antiparasitic medications such helmintox.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
