Hi, I am surprised to note your problem.

In fact Postinor 2 contains levonorgestrel which is a Progesterone. The withdrawal bleeding following progesterone preparations is always low.

There must be some other cause for your excessive bleeding.

Since you have mentioned that previously you never had such heavy bleeding, the chances are hormonal imbalance seems to be a remote possibility.

Also, in the past, you have taken Postinor 2 without any ill effects.

There is a chance that you might have some infection to your reproductory organs which can cause such a heavy bleeding. However, that is always with pain and fever.

The second possibility is of some injury to your internal organs - vagina during sex if it was rather harsh act. In such case, some intervention like suturing the wound may be required.

Tumour in the uterus also will cause such bleeding. However, it never causes sudden bleeding and is always associated with pain.

Please report to your Gynaecologist. Do not associate this bleeding to Postinor 2. Please get evaluated and treated properly.

And lastly, please do not use next morning (or emergency or post coital) pills as regular contraceptives. The doses of hormones in such pills are higher. After all they are emergency contraceptives. Please use regular contraceptives like birth control pills, intrauterine device or condom.

I am sure I have conveyed you right message.
