What Causes Excessive Body Chills?

Hi, I am writing for my friend. When the weather is kind of cold, my friend will put layers of clothing on but still be very cold. Her feet seem to never warm up. She is only 30 years old. I am a 50 year old women and I am amazed how cold she says she is always feeling (mostly at night...especially when going to bed).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Here detail clinical history should be taken regarding day time fever history if present, headache or other history, gastric issue, sleep and menstruation history. After clinical correlation further action plan can be decided. Cold intolerance and excess cold feeling can occur in hypothyroidism for which serum TSH, T4 estimation done If needed CBC and ESR can be done for preliminary work up If specific cause found than treated accordingly. Consult physician for examination and further work up accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
