What Causes Excessive Burping Along With Persistent Nausea?

My husband has been experiencing problems with his stomach for 19 months. He had an endoscopy, 2 cat scans and a colonoscopy. He was diagnosed with H-pylori at the beginning of his symptoms many months ago. He was put on an antibiotic treatment which helped some but it has never gone away. His symptons are excessive burping and nausea. how long does this H-pylori last?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sometimes, H.pylori might last forever, however flare-ups can subside in a few weeks or months.

The most important thing is to keep following the healthy changes in your diet and lifestyle regimen plus take medications as prescribed by the gastroenterologist. So be patient until you will really see improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
