What Causes Excessive Burping And Diarrhea After Quitting Alcohol?
My son, age 29, stopped drinking about 18 days ago. He has started having icky burps and some diarrhea. He has not been on any meds to detox and has been doing this on his own. He says it doesn t matter what he eats, he will still have the bad burps. I thought he may have indigestion so I looked up about Zantac and it says that it is not good due to if he ends up drinking again. Is there anything he can take to help with the stomach acids?

it may be alcohol withdrawal syndrome.antacid vit b complex can be given. give probiotic.consult deadiction clinic for examination and advise.
