What Causes Excessive Chills And Sweating With Vomiting And Nausea?

My husband got hit in the ankle with a hockey puck playing hockey last Sunday and starting on Monday has had flu like symptoms, low fever but excessive chills and sweating, some vomiting and on-going nauseau. And his ankle/shin has been getting progressively worse instead of better - very swollen and red

If the area is infected then this can cause the fever, chills, vomiting and other symptoms that have occurred.

The fever and chills etc can also be due to a separate illness aside from the trauma to his ankle eg a viral illness

It would be best for him to be seen so that he can be assessed.
