Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I can t stop crying? It been going on for a week now. I take Effexor 225 mg once a day. why!!! I have been taking Efferor 150 mg for about 3 years and then I l\thought I was get enough and mention it to my doctor and he increased it to 225 mg. I also take pravastatin sod tab 20 mg, metformin tab 500 mg., allopurinol tab 100mg., lenlafaxine xr cap 0.15 mg., propranolol tab 40 mg,. fluticasone prop. spr 50 mcg., omeprazole cap 20 mg.
The Effexor contains Venlafaxine, a molecule used widely for anxiety, depression and mood disorders. As there is excess crying while taking Effexor with other medications, I predict low dose of the drug or its unresponsiveness. Altering the dose of same molecule or addition of anti anxiety as Melatonin (3 mg) to current drug basket will help a lot.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
