What Causes Excessive Hair Loss And Sleeplessness While On Amlodipine?

I have been taking high blood pressure med called Amlodipine for a few years, 5 mg., have had side effects that of thinning hair, sleeplessness and more. About 14 yrs. ago had an angina attack, this all started when I was truly stressed out and using a salt substitute, Truly think the combination caused this and now I have been on blood pressure meds, the latest one is Amlodipine ever since. Very unhappy and would like to know if anything could keep my pressure down without the loss and thinning of hair. What is the ingredient in blood pressure meds that thins out hair and disturbs growth?Thank you,Daiva

dear I read your detail and I want to tell you that Amlodipine is very good medicine to lower your blood pressure with minimum side effects. The side effects you have mentioned are not related to Amlodipin in any ways. You should take care of your diet and start meditation . Avoid stress and junk eat healthy, follow this for minimum a period of three months. If after doing this , there is no improvement in symptoms then it's adviseable to consult with a physician personally.
