What Causes Excessive Hunger After A Concussion?

My sixteen year old was in a rear-ended car accident almost two weeks ago and had a mild concussion. Since then, she has experienced being more hungry than usual. Is this common? Could it just be the brain repairing itself requiring more fuel or actual damage to the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus?
