What Causes Excessive Hunger And Nausea?

I have been experiencing feelings of extreme hunger--like stomach growling--to the point that I am nauseated. It has waked me up in the night and last night i had significant pain in my back near my left kidney. My urine is clear and I have no pain nor blood in my urine. Today I experienced that extreme hunger pang mid morning and midafternoon, even though I have eaten about the same amount of food as I usually do. What could this be?

Hi,

You should take the drug as pantoprazole. It is a prescription drug. Avoid fast foods, alcohol, coffee, tea, spices. You may take the drug as drotaverine for pain abdomen. Continue pantoprazole. If no relief in a week, then undergo endoscopy to rule out an ulcer.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
