What Causes Excessive Mucus In Mouth?

Hello, well I have two problems with me. The first one is my mucus problem. I have been spitting mucus out of my mouth for 3 to 4 years now. It s really starting to irritate me and my throat now. Is there any way I can make it stop? I have takin nasal sprays and tried honey with lemon. But that didn t help. The second problem is my breathing. It feels like I can t take a full breath. It s been like this for about 2 years. But this year it has gotten worst. When I go up one flight of stairs that only have 3-4 steps, I am out of breath. I do not have insurance and i haven t been to the doctors for about 2 years now. My skin is yellow. My breast always hurt. There are little sort of lumps on my nipples. And they itch and get red. I m a 13 year old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Excessive mucus production in the mouth can be caused by several factors, including allergies, infections, acid reflux, and smoking. It is important to see a doctor to determine the underlying cause and get appropriate treatment.

In terms of breathing difficulty, it may be related to the mucus problem, as excess mucus can also lead to respiratory issues. However, given your other symptoms such as yellow skin, breast pain, and nipple lumps, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. These symptoms could potentially indicate a serious underlying condition that requires prompt treatment.
