What Causes Excessive Musty Odour In The Armpits Despite Using Deodorants?

I take showers & use deodorant on the daily basis. I scrub very hard under my armpits to ensure that I am not musty afterwards. I have tried several deodorant brands and all of them wear off on me within an hour or so. Is there anything you would suggest ? It s embarrassing knowing that i took a shower less than 2 hours ago and smell musty

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Using an over-the-counter (OTC) antiperspirant or deodorant (or a combination antiperspirant-deodorant) daily, after your shower, can help remedy armpit odor. If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
