What Causes Excessive Nausea While On Enbrel And Methotrexate?

I have had two injections of Enbrel over 2-1/2 weeks....experiencing nausea, however the nausea increases after I take the wily methotrexate injection. I have been on methotrexate for 1 yr w/o side effects. Could it be that taking both meds are just too strong for me or do I just have to get my system used to the combo treatment

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Both of these medications cause nausea as a possible side effect and this is likely the reason that you are experiencing this symptom.

The combination of two medications that can cause the same side effect would result in an increased intensity and likelihood of it occurring.

You may want to consider speaking to your doctors if it is overwhelming. There are medications that can help with nausea such as dramamine . This does not interact with either enbrel or methotrexate.

I hope this helps
