What Causes Excessive Perspiration, Dry Heaves And Rapid Heart Beat?
I believe I had heat exhaustion this afternoon....I was outside and when I came in I started sweating profusely,had the dry heaves, rapid heartbeat, got light headed and fainted for a few seconds, but had managed to get into an air conditioned room, soon after I took a cool shower to bring down my body temp and went to lay down....about fifteen minutes later I had the chills after that we went to the store to purchase some gatorade and when I started to walk I got cramps in lower legs.......most of that has subsided but I still feel off, weak and when I get up the heart rate starts in again....I am considering heading to the ER, good idea or should I just try to sleep it off?

As per my clinical experience, the condition of excess perspiration, dry heaves and rapid heart rate indicates sympathetic response of the body to certain metabolic changes brought about conditionally. It is the underlying mechanics of thermoregulatory set point of hypothalamus which creates such scene. The leg cramps are secondary to electrolyte imbalance or possible hyponatremia with or without hypoglycemia, which gets reversal with oral rehydration salt or Gatorade.
