What Causes Excessive Phlegm Production?

Yes my husband brings up phlegm a lot the doctor gave him a blood test and he had a chest xray four days ago he was given antibiotics he has been told to make a appointment to see his doctor they said also his oxygen levels where low worried sick because they need to see him at doctors said it is a follow up

Hi,

This is due to an infection in the chest. As he is taking antibiotics so there is nothing to worry. As infection clears he will feel fine. However, you can take him to the emergency room if it continues after taking antibiotics.
