Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.
Based on what you have written, I feel your husband is having
low BP. Low BP can cause sweating, giddiness, fast heart beat etc. This is due to all the BP reducing tablets he is taking together (as you thought correctly).
I would advise your husband to space out his medications. He could take his Losartan/
Hctz at his usual time (I am presuming he is taking it in the morning or afternoon). For next few days he could take
Clonidine at bed time. Start the Clonidine at 1 mg at bed time for next 4-5 days. Then if he is alright with the 1 mg dose, he can then increase it to two tablets as suggested by his doctor.
If despite him taking his Clonidine and Losartan/Hctz at different times, he is still experiencing the same symptoms, then I would suggest you to see his doctor again.
Did he ever complain of
chest pain or palpitations (fast heart beat) or breathlessness prior to starting Clonidine? If he had complained then you need to see a doctor as there may be something else going on.
I hope this answer has helped you.
Thank you
Regards
