Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Sweating And Cough In Infant?
Hello Dr., My baby is 6 months old. He sweats a lot even at normal temperature. And also coughs often while kept in air conditioned room. Is this something to be dealt with seriously?? Also please suggest some solid food for my baby since I have not started any solids till. Thanks.
Excessive sweating is usually not suggestive of significant disease, unless it is related to feeding or other forms of exertion (suggesting heart disease). Cough in cold environment may suggest allergy or hyperactive airway, especially if there is history of any allergic disease in family. Complimentary feeds vary among countries. In India, we commonly use semisolid items like ragi, banana powder etc. There are commercially available powders also.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
