Hi,

Citalopram is an antidepressant. It is a class of drug called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). One of the possible side effects of abruptly stopping SSRIs is withdrawal syndrome, which can cause various symptoms such as anxiety, irritability, insomnia, dizziness, headaches, nausea, and sweating.

Excessive sweating and fatigue are common symptoms of withdrawal syndrome, and changes in temperature regulation, feeling hot then cold, are also possible. These symptoms can last for several days to weeks, depending on the individual and their dosage and duration of treatment with citalopram.

It is important to note that abrupt discontinuation of citalopram should be avoided, as it can increase the risk of withdrawal syndrome. A gradual tapering of the medication under the supervision of a healthcare provider is recommended.

In your case, your healthcare provider has prescribed Diazepam to manage your symptoms until the sweating ceases. Diazepam is a medication that belongs to the class of benzodiazepines and can help relieve symptoms of anxiety and sweating. However, it is important to take Diazepam only as prescribed and not to exceed the recommended dosage.

If you continue to experience excessive sweating, fatigue, and other symptoms, it is advisable to consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
