Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Sweating And Numbness In The Shoulder?
Yesterday, I experienced excessive sweating to the point of dripping (I was in an air conditioned hom,e at the time), and then I felt weak followed by numbness across the shoulders and down both arms. After about 3 minutes, this subsided, but then, I had the chills and could not get warm. The chills lasted about an hour. This afternoon, I am experiencing very loose bowels (diarrhea). Am drinking water and drinks with electrolyes. What could this indicate?
Hello, Sudden excessive sweating followed by chills and then loose motion Suggest sever intestinal bacterial infection. Numbness of upper and lower limbs can be considerable in gastro-intestinal bacterial infection. In your case you should consult your primary physician or Gastroenterologist as soon as possible. Detailed clinic history including consumption of food beverages, recent visiting places and thorough clinical examination is mandatory. Your physician may ask you to get your lab blood tests and stool culture sensitive done, to pick up the exact type of pathogen. By the time of consultation, keep yourself hydrated with electrolytes added water.
Thanks & Take Care, Dr. Suraj D.
