What Causes Excessive Sweating And Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

Hi, I am a 57 yr old women in relatively good health. Last night, out of the blue, I got shaky and started sweating. Shortly after I started feeling light sharp pain in the upper abdomen. After about an hour my symptoms changed. I am now having discomfort; not pain, in my abdomen and the right side of my back. It feels similar to constipation or gas. I have had a couple of bowel movements since it started, soft, not hard. Sometimes turning a certain way or if I take a deep breath, I ll feel it more in my back. Could excess gas cause these symptoms or could it be something else. Thank You!

Hello,

The pain itself can cause sweats. Rather a lot of things can cause abdominal pain, but if it is enough to cause sweats, pretty much by definition it is a serious cause.

Ulcer, pancreas irritation, liver problems and rather a long list of other conditions can do this and be quite serious. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this would be true.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
