What Causes Excessive Sweating And Severe Chills Post Withdrawal From Xanax?

For many years I have had hypothyroidism which led to Hashimoto s. Now I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism/Graves. In an effort to help myself because of the new anti-thyroid med. I am taking, I reduced my Xanax from 3 mg to 1.5 mg per day for the last 3 days. Right now I am experiencing terrible sweating with severe chills. Are these symptoms of Xanax withdrawal or do I have another problem?

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to Xanax withdrawal. I suggest to lower gradually the dosage at haft of a dose.

After two weeks you can use quarter of the dose and that stop it completely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Regards,
