What Causes Excessive Sweating While On Metformin For Diabetes?
I was taking Metformin and Glipozide for Diabetes type 2 and I kept sweating all the time, more so in the morning. Stay tired all the time as well. Doctor then added Januvia. It seemed to get worse and every time I stood up I was dizzy. Stopped taking the metformin and it seem to help a little. What do I need to take, one pill, two pills????
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The reason why are experiencing symptoms such as sweating and dizziness is due to intermittent hypoglygemia caused due to intake of oral hypoglycemic drugs like Metformin and Glipozide for diabetes mellitus. You need to consult your doctor and review the dose and the schedule you are taking the medications. In case such side effects occur even with the correction of the dose, you may need to go in for change in the medication itself. These things are to be done by the response of the drugs to control your blood glucose levels. Kindly consult your doctor for evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
