What Causes Excessive Sweating While On Oxycodone-Acetaminophen?

I got 2 different prescriptions for pain after surgery The first one I got was oxycodone/ acetamipohen 5/325, the second was for the same. Both from Walgreens, the first from one town and the second from another town. The first one was a small pill, the second a larger pill. The first one didn t make me sick, the second one gave me the swets and feeling terrible. Why? I think the second one was the wrong med. How can I find out why?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Oxycodone-Acetaminophen 5/325 you were both prescribed for relieving pain after surgery you had. When you first got them, the pain could have been more intense, but was perfectly managed by oxycodone-acetaminophen pill.

When you took the second round, the pain could have been lessen. So, you might have required in reduction of dosage of this potent analgesic. As the dose was the same for the same drug, while the pain could have been less; this can explain why you sweat.

I advise to report this to the doctor who prescribed the med to you as you might need change in dosage or therapy.

Wish fast recovery.
