What Causes Excessive Sweating?

My son was really sweaty at school during recess and they had a hard time cooling him down after even though it was not hot outside. He also wet his pant and he is almost seven and never does this. Its been a couple of hours and now he is saying he is a little dizzy. Should I be concerned?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,

Your son's actual symptoms can be related to a possible thyroid gland problem. Hyperthyroidism can cause excessive sweating.

For this reason, my advice is to do the thyroid tests TSH, FT3 and FT4 to see if your son has any thyroid condition that can explain his symptoms.

Anyway, I suggest to consult his pediatrician and discuss with him all the possible causes that can cause his symptoms and the necessary test to reach the definitive diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Elona Xhardo,
