hi, I am 72 with diabetes, I work in a school, do a lot of walking, etc.. however the last 3 months I have noticed my urine smelling? I feel tired during the day, take a power nap at lunch and after work. went to the local clinic and they did labs and said I was ok, but I am not ok. last fall had cataract surgery and have had blurry vision at times. my blood sugar at 5 am was 80, sometimes it is 120. it goes up when I eat, have been trying to cut out bread but that is difficult.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM I have read and understood your concern. Excessive urine odor is common and may not always be pathologic. However, there are many medical conditions that may give such a symptom. Some of these causes may include: -Dehydration -Bladder/urinary tract infections -Marple syrup urine disease -Phenylketonuria I will advise you take enough fluids(water) and remain well hydrated. If symptoms persist, you see the Doctor for a urinalysis and urine dipstick test. Hope this will help Wish you good health. You may write back if more concerns Best regards
