What Causes Excessive Vaginal Discharge?

Hello how are you... I just went to the bathroom and I wiped and saw some clearish white tissue like discharge on the toilet paper. I stuck my finger inside my vagina and there were lots of it inside. There is no odor and this is the first time I am seeing this and experiencing this. I also just finished a 7 day fast this morning so I was wondering if that might have something to do with it

Hello,

Excessive vaginal discharge is commonly due to Leukorrhea or bacterial vaginosis. If you are sexually active then it can be caused by STD. Get physically examined & get STD tests done.

You may need antibiotics /antifungals & antivirals. Take care of your vaginal hygiene, avoid sex while you are being treated.

Take food rich in minerals(calcium, iron, magnesium, etc) & protein. You can take calcium supplements. Take care of your general health condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
