What Causes Excessive Weight Gain After A Duodenal Ulcer Removal Surgery?

I had a duodenal ulcer and had surgery where they had to open up my stomach, it has been 9 weeks now and I have this issue where all my joints ache real bad, only my hands, fingers, wrists elbows and shoulders, I know I lost 31 pounds but I am gaining weight back and eating properly could there be an odd reason for this? The only drug they have me on is omeprazole

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I read your query and I understand your concern. To gain weight at this point is normal. You were undergone a major surgery and weren't feeding properly so you lost weight. Now you are feeding normally and will gain some weight but not much. Keep eating right.

Hope my answer was helpful. If yes vote helpful. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
