What Causes Excessive Weight Gain And Fatigue During Menopause?

I am 56, already gone through menopause but now suddenly I cannot seem to lose weight and I am hot a lot of the time. Also I am so fatigued and cannot even muster the strength to go for a simple walk. I have a job and work full time too. My doc confirmed menopause was completed two years ago. Could I be going through menopause again? I never had symptoms like these the first time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. These symptoms of feeling hot and tired happens during menopause. Once your physician has told you had menopause it might be over. You can test for FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) in blood. If the levels are more than 40 then you might have completed menopause. You can learn relaxation techniques, meditation. Consult a clinical psychologist if you need counselling. Will power is most important. Where there is a will there is a way. All the best
