What Causes Excessive Weight Gain While On Encorate Chrono?

Hi! My daughter who is now 11+ yrs of age has been taking Encorate chrono 200 since October 2015...she has gained a lot of weight despite playing a lot , has faced thinning of hairs..n now i fear that as she is about to enter her reproductive age ..she might face some other problems like poly cystic ovary syndrome...I have read that she might face many other problems..Pls help me I m very much worried ...Thanks.

Hello,
These symptoms are probably due to side effects of the medicine. However, we need to rule out other causes like hypothyroidism, Cushing disease. So she should get thyroid profile done, serum cortisol in the morning 8 am. Also, get her hormonal profile as well like FSH, LH, Prolactin.
Also, she need to visit neurologist for change of medicine to other class of drug.
