What Causes Excessive Weight Gain While On Prednisone?

I have recently gained 10 or so pounds during a two week my tapered prednisone trial. I was prescribed the prednisone to help with my severe eczema. I am not longer on the treatment however, the eczema is coming back and I have a refill for the prednisone. the weight gain from the prednisone is noticeable and I am planning to take hydroxycut along with a reduced calorie intake and exercise diet regime. Is it safe for me to take the two medications simultaneously?

I can understand your concern.
Prednisone is oral corticosteroid. It can cause side effects like weight gain, hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes etc.
And it can interact with other drugs like hydroxycut.
So better to take deflazacort.
It is newer steroid. It is having higher therapeutic effect with low side effects and no drug interactions.
So discuss about deflazacort with your doctor and start it.
