Hello,

Corticosteroids are known to cause weight gain due to their side effects on metabolism. Corticosteroids also reduce immunity and cause immunosuppression.

So patients are more prone to infections. The possibility of cellulitis (infection of the skin) is more likely in your sister because of the swollen pus-filled skin of legs.

So better to take her to the doctor and start antibiotics and other supportive treatment. She needs to stop steroids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
