What Causes Excruciating Back Pain While On Metformin?

I was diagnosed as prediabetic and goven glimepiride. .after being hospitalized due to a asthma attack I was given 8 units of insipid 2x a day and metformin for 3 days..I had been taking glimepiride for 30 days with no side affects. When released from hospital I was given RX for 500mlg of Metformin to be taken Am &PM..I AM NOW HAVING EXCRUIATINGING BACK PAIN AND PAIN UNDER MY FEET. ..I CAN HARDLY STAND TO WALK..WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Hi,

It is not related to Metformin. Most probably it is due to spine related problems. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.
