What Causes Excruciating Pain In Foot?

hi, earlier i was laying in bed and when i got up to get water i found that i could hardly put any weight on my right foot without causing this sharp pain that feels just like a cramp. I always thought that cramps only hurt and lasted for a few minutes but in this case, it has that on edge cramp feeling when I m sitting still and whenever i point or flex my foot it really hurts, specifically near the arch on the inward facing area of my foot. Any idea what I should do? i took some ibuprofen and drank some water in case it was due to dehydration?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can consider to gently move and massage the foot to help decrease the pain.
A warm compress may also help as well.

The ibuprofen would start to kick in after 15 to 30 minutes.

Cramping can be due to abnormal movements, abnormal electrolytes such as sodium or calcium or dehydration.

If the problem recurs frequently, you may need a blood test to check electrolyte levels.

I hope this helps
