What Causes Extreme Abdominal Pain Post A Fall On The Buttocks?

My 5 year old daughter was running through the kitchen wearing socks. She slipped and fell on her butt and was screaming that her stomach hurt (still hurts). Can she actually have hurt anything internally just from falling from standing, onto her butt?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, children who fall on their own, and not pushed by anybody, do not hurt that seriously.

If your child screams from tummy pain, they could be something else, acute gastroenteritis or even maldigestion. Sometimes cold temperature can give these symptoms.

To ease your mind, send to a pediatrician to check it out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
