What Causes Extreme Anger And Dry Mouth While On Oxycodone?
Brother had Parkinson s Disease. (10 years now) just had a PEG tube inserted. After a trip to Dallas , he has returned home to CO and has been very wobbly and speech very hard. Not only is he on the normal Parkinson s medication he has been prescribed Oxycodine, muscle relaxers and sleep medication. His care giver reported that he was very quick to anger today and unable to stand up. Since he is receiving these medication through his PEG tube, could this cause his anger issues and dry mouth and his more than usual ability with balance issues
Oxycodone does have some side effects, but patients may show anger symptoms also because of anxiety or monotony with their disease. Ask the care giver to deal with affection & patience.
Oxycodone is an opioid agonist & may cause dizziness/drowsiness, muscle weakness, tiredness or decreased energy. If he is experiencing dryness of mouth, palpitations or extreme weakness it should be reported to the treating doctor for the doses need to be monitored or altered.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
