What Causes Extreme Chest Pain?

I was scheduled for a nuclear stress test tomorrow morning and the physicians office called and left a message saying they had decided to do a an echocardiogram instead? is there any particular reason why they changed? I was in the hospital this weekend because of extreme chest pain and they ordered many tests that came up negative for a heart attack.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Having chest pain does not necessarily mean you are having a heart attack. Most people the pain can related to muscle pain, heart burn, or anxiety. But before we rule out the serious diagnosis we need to make sure you do not have Myocardia infarction. Diagnosis of myocardia infarction ECG, blood test, echocardiography etc.

Your doctor will give you a good option of investigation for your chest pain. They may do a lot test you find out what is your chest pain from. So please follow their instruction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
