What Causes Extreme Fatigue And Abdominal Bloating?
Hello- I have, for the past couple months, been experiencing extreme fatigue, some fullness when eating (not consistent), some gassiness (also not consistent) and have experienced strong changes in bowl movements, on and off diarrhea/loose stools. About a month ago, I experience some tar-like stools but was on antibiotics for bronchitis so I wrote it off... but for the past 2 days have experienced bright red blood when passing stool, mainly just in the morning. I have no pain or itching and feel no bulging. I do have a family history of cancer (Mother had both ovarian cancer and a rare malignant tumor in her chest 20 years earlier). What type of doctor should I consult and what things should I be asking?
There are many medical conditions that can cause blood in stool.
Several examinations are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
I would recommend to see a gastrologist.
I suggest to do a blood test, a stool test and a colonoscopy for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
General & Family Physician
