What Causes Extreme Hunger And Desire To Eat, Sleepiness And Tiredness?

Hi Doc,



For the last 4 days, I've noticed that I've been feeling a higher degree of hunger and an overall desire to eat than normal. In addition to this, I've also noticed that I'm feeling sleepy quite often during the course of the day. particularly, after eating. I don't know why I feel so sleepy and tired when I'm getting a full night sleep (7-8hrs). any suggestions? With regard to my stats, I'm a 5'9.5" tall male. I weigh 229 lbs. have no illnesses. There is history of blood pressure and diabetes in my family.

Hi dear.Thanks for writing on HCM.
I were to suspect initial stages of diabetes, hypothyroidism.Do labs (fasting and postprandial blood sugars, HbA1c, Thyroid profile) to rule out the above condition.Advise brisk walking for half an hour/day, yoga/meditation, loose weight etc.Hope this answers your query.
