What Causes Extreme Hunger Pangs, Headaches And Burning Esophagus?
i would like to know why the last week i have been feeling constantly hungry, upon eating i still have hunger pains. Also random meals will make me feel sick. I keep getting headaches, and my throat is a bit sore today. Also too, feels like I get bought of acid in the lower part of my esophagus.
Your symptoms are suggestive of Gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD. The following are the few lifestyle changes you can try to relieve GERD symptoms - Maintain a healthy body weight. - Quit smoking and alcohol. - Elevate the head of your bed, which can prevent acid easily refluxing through your esophagus. - Do not lie down after the intake of food. - Eat your food slowly and chew it thoroughly well. - Avoid foods and drinks such as chocolate and coffee that trigger reflux. - Avoid heavy meals
You can also take over-the-counter proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole. If the symptoms do not improve in a week, follow up with your primary provider.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
