What Causes Extreme Itching All Over Body?

My 27 year old son went to the doctor because his body was so itchy he knew something was wrong. He is a body builder and does make protein shakes... Doctors believe he might be getting too much protein and it is affecting his liver. They did blood work and he is having an ultrasound Monday. Just wondered if the protein could be causing this problem

Yes. Protein powders do make changes as it contains preservatives n other added ingradients.
it is so common to develop allergy to that added products rather than protein.
