Hello,
You are suffering from extreme lower
back pain on the spine and painful lumps. You have been suffering this after childbirth. You suspect epidural fault / error by the anesthetist. I am sorry to hear about it. However, do not get depressed and think positive. A bruise on the spine can feel like a lump or bump, it can be a tight muscle or muscle spasm that feels like a bump or a knot.
You can take pain killers or apply pain relieving sprays (volini) for relieve. Gentle
massage with pain relieving ointment by a physiotherapist may be helpful. Get connected to a physical therapist. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get required blood tests and imaging tests done to detect
spinal tumor, synovial cysts, etc. Get treated at the earliest.
Lumber epidural infusions if gone wrong though rare can cause serious complications later in life like neurological damage, motor blockade, dural puncture,
epidural hematoma,
epidural abscess, etc. If you are experiencing symptoms like
severe pain in the back that is getting worse over time or leg weakness, you are advised to visit ER, and get treated urgently before the symptoms worsen.
As the pathology advances it will cause
numbness or loss of sensation, loss of bladder or bowel control, etc. Do not neglect, do not panic, have patience & get treated. Think positive so that your body responds well to the treatment given.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
