What Causes Extreme Pain In The Hip After An Injury?

hi, i was wondering what damage i may of done to my hip/leg? after falling from a ladder at approx 18ft and landing on concrete, with my right hip taking the full impact,i was in extreme pain and really thought when i looked i was going to have bruising and swelling ,but there was no evidence of any injury from looking. it still gives me extreme pain a few years on now and the pain also goes down my leg also with a burning sensation. i realise i should of gone straight to hospital, i presume i will suffer with this for life now? thanks Andi.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to trauma due to the fall. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication to relieve the pain such as Ibuprofen three times a day.

I also recommend to do an x-ray to check for any fracture.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Regards,
