What Causes Extreme Rashes Under The Breasts Post Heart Surgery?

Dear Doctor, My friend recently had heart surgery. She was fine in the hospital but just before leaving noticed that she had a terrible rash developing under her breast. She told the Doctor who said it would go away.. Well it didn t and now she has developed a foul odor ..even though she washes and has tried creams and corn starch it remains. She is a very private person and is feeling very ashamed about this. She is 80 years old. and never had this before. Thank you for helping her.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think she is having a skin infection. She needs to wash well the area of the wound and keep it dry. Also an antifungal ointment can be useful. Try to use Clotrmazole cream over it and keep skin well ventilated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
